Travel advertising on Instagram 2018
If someone asks me which customer outreach channel is most suitable for tourism. My personal opinion is that it is Instagram, not Facebook, Website, etc. But unfortunately, this channel is currently not seriously exploited by units in Vietnam.
So what are the reasons why Instagram will be a great channel for customer marketing for the Tourism industry:

Social network for sharing images
If you don't know, Instagram is a mobile photo sharing social network that was acquired by Facebook and has just reached 1 billion users and has had a higher growth rate than Facebook in the past year.

And of course, with a social network that only specializes in sharing images, the images will definitely be more sparkling and magical than other social networks. That is also the reason why Instagram users have a more "professional" hobby of taking photos and checking in than other social networks.
That means many of them love to travel. And often look at travel photos at a location before going to use it as a suggestion when you travel.

Target young people
In Viet Nam. Users are mainly female and under 30 years old. These are very potential audiences because this generation is living an experiential lifestyle, so they travel and check in a lot.
With Instagram, you can also easily reach more foreign guests. Foreigners use Instagram more than Facebook. So they often search for information, images, and hashtags about tourist destinations for reference before deciding. I have a few Pages about travel and one of the Pages about Vietnam travel gets asked a lot by foreign users such as what places to travel to, where to go, where to eat with a very fast increase in Follower salary.
You can check the account and see that the interaction is very good, there are a lot of Direct customers (sending messages on Instagram). It can be turned into a great tourism promotion channel for Vietnam. Perhaps when you are reading this article, the number of Followers will increase quite a lot compared to the time I wrote this article. Currently, I only do a few Travel Pages for my own enjoyment and want to promote Vietnamese tourism to foreigners and have not used them for profit. I'm not in the tourism industry so I was quite surprised to see that foreign tourists really like coming to Vietnam. Especially Hoi An, Ha Long, Ninh Binh, Old Quarter... Honestly, when I look at the photos they take and the way they talk about Vietnam, I really see how beautiful our country is.

Less competition
I realize that many tourism units invest a lot of money to compete with each other in marketing channels such as Facebook, Adwords, SEO, and Banners on websites. But with Instagram the cost is much cheaper, currently there is very little competition compared to other traditional or online channels.
